I started writing Bloodstone in 2011 after a difficult time in my extended family. The idea had been bouncing around in my head for a couple of years and finally gelled. You can read more about the process of writing the novel here!

This was one of the first books I wrote after I joined Pinterest, so I have a collection of inspiration photos. Normally, I don’t share who my physical models were for my characters–keep in mind that usually, the actors themselves or their roles have almost nothing to do with the characters. (I’m known to avoid shows and movies featuring “my” characters while I’m writing!)
