It’s that time again! For no apparent reason, I’m feeling discouraged today—like I’ll never get the WIP that I’ve been working on for almost two years good enough (and nothing else I ever have or ever will write will be, either) (man, the more I think about this the worse it gets!).
And then I come across a little encouragement:
Most people quit when it gets really dark. Those who succeed are the ones who refuse to stop.
we need to feel good about what we have accomplished without comparing ourselves to others. And that is what success really is – knowing we have done something good and taking appropriate pride in that, without feeling less because others have done more than we have.
And, of course, to put things in perspective:

Jordan,
I know you will finish your MS and it will be AWESOME. I don’t know you, so how do I know this? Easy. Just look at your blog and see how much time and work you put into it on a REGULAR basis. You finish wonderful posts, so therefore, you will finish your book because you are a finisher!
Hooray for you! Hooray for your MS! Hooray for all of us who benefit from your devotion to writing skills!
Hang in there sister!
Thank you, Kathleen! I needed that 😀 .
Rock on, dudette.
LOVE that poster.
Ironically, I needed some encouragement myself, so I pulled it out of the dark recesses of memory. Glad it helped someone else, too!
How funny! It’s so easy to sit at this point in my career and think once I’m as accomplished as you, Annette, then I’ll never struggle with this again. Yeah, right!
Hope you’re doing better!
